Our professional staff:
• Dr. Rosemary D. Laird, Md, MHSA Dr. Laird is Medical Director of the Aging Institute of
Health First, Inc. at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She is a Diplomate in both
Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine. Previously, she was Medical
Director, Coventry Health Care, Inc., and Program Director, Geriatric
Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Dr. Laird is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society where she chairs the Special Interest Group for Health Services Administration, the Society of General Internal Medicine, and the Gerontologic Society of America. Geriatrician: • Dr. Visa Srinivasan, MD Dr. Visa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She serves as Physician at the Health First Aging Institute in Melbourne where her areas of focus are senior wellness, memory loss, dementia and falls. Previously, she was a Fellow in Geriatrics with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Huron Hospital of the Cleveland Clinic Health System where she was recognized for outstanding performance on several occasions. Her areas of research include nursing home and end-of-life care. Dr. Visa is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society. She also completed 3 years post-graduate training in General and Emergency Medicine in the U.K. Clinical Neuropsycology Director: • Dr. Thomas H. Peake, Ph. D., ABPP Dr. Peake is Professor of Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology, with a focus on healthy aging, neuropsychology, brief psychotherapies and life-span development. Previously, he was on the faculties of the Eastern Virginia Medical School and Michigan State University. He served as Director of Internship training at both Eastern Virginia Medical School and Pine Rest Christian Hospital. He was Neuropsychology Fellow at the University of Virginia and Co-Director of the Neuropsychology Center of Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is Diplomate in Clinical Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology, and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Neuropsychology Society and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He is on the affiliated staff of Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. Director of Research and Training: • Dr. Frank M. Webbe, Ph.D. Psychology Dr. Webbe is Professor of Psychology at the School of Psychology of the Florida Institute of Technology. Recently elected to Fellow status in the National Academy of Neuropsychology, he is a member of the American Psychological Association, and the Human Factors Society. He is a member of the board and former President of the Board of Directors of Crisis Services of Brevard. He also directs the National Food Addiction Hot Line of Florida Tech. Dr. Webbe is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Frontier Science and Technology, Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America. He was elected to membership in the American Board of Administrative Psychology. Clinical Advisor: • Dr. Eugene M. Shepherd, MD Dr. Shepherd is board certified in both psychiatry and neurology. He previously served as President and Chief Neurologist at Melbourne Neurologic, and was Chief of the Neurology Division at Holmes Regional Medical Center for several years. He was also a consulting staff member of the Brevard County Mental Health Association and the Community Psychiatry Center in Palm Bay, FL. He is past chairman of the Continuing Medical Education Committee, Holmes Regional Center. Dr. Shepherd is also past host on the “Medicine Show,” a weekly call-in radio program on WTAI, Melbourne. Clinical Advisor: • Dr. Kelly L. Dunn, MD Dr. Dunn obtained her BA degree from the College of Wooster and her MD from Penn State University where she completed her psychiatric internship and residency. She completed her geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was on staff at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sheppard Pratt Hospital, Baltimore. Board certified in both general and geriatric psychiatry, she relocated to Melbourne where she entered private practice. Dr. Dunn is on staff at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Circles of Care. She provides hospital care, outpatient office care, and care in several local assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Dr. Dunn has served as the chairman of the department of psychiatry at HRMC, on committees at both hospitals, and volunteers her services to a number of community activities related to elder issues. Executive Director: • Farah Mirza, MS Gerontology Ms. Mirza has worked in a variety of settings addressing dementia issues including behavioral health, skilled nursing homes, hospice and most recently, at an innovative assisted living facility in California that specializes in serving people afflicted with memory loss. She has worked directly with dementia patients, their families and professional caregivers. Recognizing the value and knowledge of older adults, Ms.
Mirza chose to make her life’s work as a Gerontologist. She completed
her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida with a
degree in Psychology and a certificate in Gerontology. She brings to her
work a caring heart and a desire to make a difference in the lives of
