Our Comprehensive Memory Evaluation is available by appointment only. As memory difficulties arise from any of several medical or psychological causes, the comprehensive evaluation requires a thorough health history plus in-depth examination and testing. Each patient is encouraged to come with an informed caregiver or family member who can report as an observer. A brief neuropsycholgical test is conducted by a Florida Institute of Technology Doctoral student of Psychology supervised by a licensed psychologist using a variety of screens to assess attention/concentration, executive functioning, motor/processing speed, visuospatial skills, learning/memory, language and mood/personality. A Social Worker meets with each patient/family to assess their social and emotional needs, assisting with coordination of services as indicated. A Health First Geriatric Physician performs a thorough medical examination to determine a proper diagnosis and rule out reversible forms of cognitive loss. Additional lab tests, imaging studies or blood work may be recommended. Most insurance plans are accepted for these services.

The Memory Screen is by appointment and is available for any adult who is concerned about memory loss. It is a very brief screen that will provide basic information in relation to a person’s age and education. For more definitive testing, the Comprehensive Memory Evaluation is suggested.
